SEWING DREAMS Kakendema, Sierra Leone
In 2024, The Pollyanna Project made a promise to the people of Kakendema, Sierra Leone a promise to help teach the community how to “fish” not just provide temporary aid.
Through our Sewing Dreams Initiative, we are committed to helping the village build sustainable skills that lead to independence and long-term opportunity.
In the summer of 2026, The Pollyanna Project will install sewing machines and computers in Kakendema. These resources will allow young people in the village to learn practical skills such as sewing, design, and basic computer literacy skills that can lead to employment, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment.
Our goal is simple: To help the youth of the village become self-sufficient, confident, and independent, creating opportunities not only for themselves but for future generations.
You can help make this vision a reality.
We invite you to shop at our Amazon store and support this initiative by helping us furnish the training facility with the tools and equipment needed to give these young people a meaningful start.
Together, we can help sew dreams into reality one life, one skill, and one opportunity at a time.
